What's Working Well in your Business?
Poor mental health is a significant and growing global issue, and Tasmania is no exception. Research shows that workplaces play an important role in supporting the mental health of their employees, which presents both an opportunity and responsibility for us as business owners.
The Menzies Institute for Medical Research is currently delivering the largest survey of Tasmanian workers ever undertaken, the Working Well Study. Working Well looks at how mental health is managed in workplaces, and aims to gather insights from over 13,000 Tasmanian workers, and 620 organisations.
Data from Working Well will be used to establish a benchmark for the new Tasmanian Workplace Mental Health Framework being developed by WorkSafe Tasmania and WorkCover Tasmania.
We’re calling on you and your employees, to play a role in shaping the future of workplace mental health in Tasmania
As a business owner or manager, you may be invited to participate in the Working Well survey. If you do receive an invitation, we encourage you to take part by doing a 20-minute telephone survey with one of the Tasmanian based researchers.
Menzies are also inviting Tasmanian workers aged 18 and over to share their views on managing workplace mental health. The worker survey is online, anonymous and takes approximately 20 minutes.
We’re asking our TCCI members to encourage their employees to participate in the Working Well survey, and to give them the opportunity to complete the survey during work time. You can also do the worker survey yourself as well.
This survey provides an opportunity for businesses and all workers to have a say in influencing future mental health practices and policy in Tasmanian workplaces.
